The ski area receives its name from the Glungezer mountain (2,677 m) and is located in a Nature paradise with stunning panoramic views over the Inn valley and across the summit of the Nordkette.

Despite its small size, 23 kilometers of pistes, the Glungezer ski resort is home to one of the longest descents in Tirol with a length of 15 kilometers from top to bottom. The comfortable 10-seater gondola takes skiers directly from the valley station to the Halsmarter middle station in just 6.5 minutes. From there you can take the "Tulfein Express" - a combination lift with gondolas and comfortable six-seater chairs - to the Tulfein mountain station, plus another chairlift onto the Schartenkogel. This 15 kilometers descent offers dream views of the Inn Valley and is divided into two sections, a red slope first and a blue one in the lower part. Starting from the highest point of the ski resort at 2,304m, skiers descend more than 1,300 vertical meters down to the bottom of the cable car station in the village of Tulfes, at 948m a.s.l.

Glungezer bears the title of a true ski touring paradise offering wonderful deep snow descents. The Glungezer peak (2677 m)  and the Sonnenspitze (2639), west of the Glungezer Hütte are interesting peaks for summit collectors.

Food lovers will find in The Glungezer a nice offer of places to enjoy the traditional Tirolean food: The Tulfeinalm, a rustic hut at 2035 meters; the Halsmarter at 1560 meters with its large sun terrace; the cosy rustic Tulfer Hütte at 1335 meters; and the Larchnhittl, just below the valley station of the Glungezerbahn.

The new 3.7-kilometer toboggan run Tulfein - Halsmarter leads along a wide forest road with great hairpin bends and a magnificent view over the Inn Valley from the top station of the Tulfein Express to the middle station. You can rent your "rodel" (sledge) at the Alpengasthaus Halsmarter.
