Federica Brignone is Back to the Top of the Podium

Federica Brignone beats Lara Gut-Behrami and claimed the victory in today’s Audi FIS World Cup super-G in Val di Fassa.

It is the fifth podium of the season for Brignone, and her first victory of the year. The last time The Italian won in the super-G was in Rosa Khutor just over one year ago.

Federica Brignone is now tied with Deborah Compagnoni at the top of the list of Italian women with the most World Cup wins.



With today's second place Lara Gut-Behrami has secure the Super-G discipline globe. It is her eighth straight World Cup podium. Gut-Behrami also further extended her lead in the hunt for the Overall Globe as she now holds a 187 point advantage over Petra Vlhova.

It is the third time Gut-Behrami win the Super-G crystal globe after 2013-2014 and 2015-2016. Among women, only Lindsey Vonn (5), Katja Seizinger (5), Carole Merle (4) and Renate Götschl (3) have already achieved this.


Gut-Behrami’s teammate Corinne Suter also capped a fantastic weekend, earning her third podium in as many races with her third-place finish.
