Sofia Goggia Wins Second Downhill in Crans Montana

Italian Sofia Goggia won her fourth consecutive Downhill race, a feat not seen since Lindsey Vonn achieved 4 wins in a row in 2018.

Sofia Goggia is the only Italian woman to win four World Cup Downhill races in a single season. Goggia joins Isolda Kostner as the only Italian woman to record four successive Downhill podiums in the World Cup. Kostner achieved five consecutive Downhill podiums in the 2001-2002 season.

With a total of 480 points, the Italian is leading the discipline's standings and after today's victory, Goggia now also stands in the third position on the overall ranking.

Lara Gut has finished in second place, only 0.27 seconds behind with Goggia's teammate Elena Curtoni in third place (+0.60).

The Italian team has placed 4 racers in the Top 10 with Laura Pirovano in fourth place, achieving her best personal result in the World Cup, and Federica Brignone 9th.
