Tessa Worley won her second Giant Slalom race of the season, 0.29 seconds ahead of Federica Brignone. Sara Hector, who was on the lead after the first run, finished in third position +0.31 behind Worley.
With two Giant Slalom races to go in Are and Meribel, Sara Hector is leading the Giant Slalom standings with 522 points, 55 points ahead of Tessa Worley. Mikaela Shiffrin is in third place, 111 points behind Hector.
Shiffrin's fourth-place today gave her the opportunity to increase the lead in the Overall standings over Petra Vlhova (DNF) to 117 points.
“I love this slope. I felt good the whole time and the conditions were perfect. I wanted to attack and I succeeded. The gaps in the second round were bigger, you had to let the skis run and push. I'm proud of myself that I've done most of it", said Worley.
Tessa Worley sits in second place, tied with Annemarie Moser-Pröll, on the all-time women's list for most World Cup Giant Slalom wins with 16 victories. Vreni Schneider with 20 winds tops the ranking.
Worley has claimed 36 World Cup podiums in the Giant Slalom. Among women, only Schneider (46), and Anita Wachter (45) have collected more.
Worley is the first woman to achieve 4 World Cup Giant Slalom victories in Switzerland. The French woman previously won in St. Moritz (2010, and 2013) and Lenzerheide (2018).
