Ragnhild Mowinckel wins the last Super-G in Courchevel. The Norwegian edges Mikaela Shiffrin by a mere +0.05 seconds. Michelle Gisin finished in third place +0.13 seconds behind Mowinckel.
The 29-year-old put down a clean run on the new Eclipse course to earn her second victory and her 9th podium in the World Cup. Mowinckel has already stood at the top of a World Cup podium once before, in the 2018 Giant Slalom in Ofterschwang.
She claimed one super-G podium finish this World Cup season, a second place in Val d'Isère on 19 December. She joins Merete Fjeldavlie (Vail, 1992) and Ingeborg Helen Marken (Kvitfjell, 1996) as the only Norwegians to win a Super-G in the women's World Cup.
Federica Brignone won the women’s Super-G cup standings to claim her first-ever globe in the discipline. The victory was also a step forward for the women’s Italian ski team as Brignone became the first female Italian to with the small globe.
Today's second-place means Mikaela Shiffrin wins the Overall Crystal Globe for the fourth time. Shiffrin is the third woman to win the overall crystal globe more than three times, after Annemarie Moser-Pröll (6) and Lindsey Vonn (4).
This season the 27-year-old claimed four World Cup super-G podiums: second in Lenzerheide (5 March), two third places in St. Moritz (11 and 12 December), and second in Courchevel today. It's her 119 podium in the World Cup.
The last six Overall Crystal Globes were won by the top-three in the standings: Shiffrin (2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2021-2022), Brignone (2019-2020), and Vlhová (2020-2021).
